Welcome to Cadillac Ranch

Just outside of the sleepy metropolis of Amarillo, Texas (prounounced Tay-Hass), is this thing called Cadillac Ranch.  It is a magically place where giant hunks of steel and vinyl circa 1957-1959 can roam free without fear of persecution from any commies, liberals, or long-hairs.  Or maybe its just some idiot decided to ram 10 Cadillacs halfway into the ground so that people could spray paint on them and then throw their empty paint cans in the mud.  Ecology be damned!

In some ways, this image is good impetus for the next road trip…. “American Leftovers: Junkyards, Jukeboxes, and Post Offices”
